A CAUSE TO CELEBRATE
When you’re asked to support community during this year’s annual workplace giving campaign, you’ll be able to easily support any charity of your choice and any community of your choice.
The 2017 Together we Care – with SunCares and the United Way campaign makes it simple to give to the causes and communities that matter to us.
“It’s important to our employees to direct volunteer and nancial contributions to the community they call home,” says Anne Marie Toutant, a Suncor Energy Foundation Board member and vice president in Upstream operations, which has a large number of Fly-In-Fly-Out workers. “Enabling our employees to support any community organization either directly or through the United Way at any time of year is a signi cant improvement.”
It’s a positive change for the rest of the organization too. The new campaign, which kicks off Sept. 25, will recognize all contributions made through SunCares.
“With the enhancements made to our SunCares program earlier this year, we can support and connect our employees with their communities better than ever before,” says Joanne Manser, senior advisor, community investment. “This is a more inclusive campaign that supports, recognizes and celebrates personal giving to any charity or non-pro t organization.”
With the new SunCares, you can now track your engagement, including volunteer time, and make donations from work, home, or even on-the-go through your mobile device.
Whether it’s making a donation or organizing a team-building volunteer opportunity, SunCares is a program that supports all kinds of community engagement during the annual campaign period and throughout the year.
Jordan Horbay, a contract specialist in Downstream, and Ontario campaign volunteer, looks forward to the changes.
“This year we’ll be able to easily use SunCares to create and share United Way Day of Caring events, which will enable us as campaign volunteers to reduce administrative work and focus more time on promoting speci c needs in our communities and how everyone can get involved,” he says.
Other bene ts of the new SunCares program include the ability for campaigns to report on volunteerism, increased security of your personal information, and the ability for suppliers, friends and family to participate in our campaign through the Community Impact Portal. This public site is also where contractors can participate in Together we Care.
“The changes to SunCares provide more opportunities to engage in community and celebrate the many ways Suncor employees support community organizations,” says Joanne. “It’s great to be part of a company where we support our communities and help those who need it most.”
