“Can’t say enough about the amazing support there has been to safely evacuate Fort McMurray. A few of us stayed to help ensure a safe shutdown of the plant and were own out yesterday. I was lucky to have with me a great crew, supervisor and one awesome safety guy. Suncor did an incredible job from welcoming evacuees into our camp to the ight out from their Firebag airport. I arrived safely in Calgary where I was greeted by my awesome family.”

“Once again, Suncor is showing their employees they care. So happy to be employed by a company like this. When we evacuated, the management did an amazing job and it was executed safely and without panic.”
“My family and I were evacuees on May 3, when the wild re moved into our community. In our group was my wife, my 4-year-old and 8-month-old boys along with a friend and two dogs. We were ushered north by the RCMP towards the camps and ended up staying at Mount Logan Lodge at Fort Hills. I would like to commend Suncor, the security staff and the staff at Fort Hills for taking such good care of the most important people in my life. It was a stressful couple of nights but knowing that we had a comfortable place to sleep was a huge weight off our shoulders.”

“Thank you Suncor for dropping everything and assisting those in need. Many at Suncor (my husband included) have been working long hours to house anyone that has come through their doors and give them whatever they may need...safety, shelter, food, baby supplies and a safe way out by ying evacuees out of their camp. I am very proud of this company my husband works for. Great job!”

“During the re we were separated from our two-year-old daughterwhowasatourhomewithmyfather-in-law.Without Suncor’s assistance, I don’t know how we would’ve got my wife and twins to Edmonton to get the medical attention they needed. The staff at Firebag were phenomenal as they helped medical staff organize ights and of oad patients. A number of folks helped me locate my family once they arrived at the camp, and then assisted me in getting out right away to be with my wife and new babies. I have been an employee here for 13 years and have always had high regard for this organization, but can certainly say now that I have never been more proud to be part of this team.”

“We have safe, comfortable beds, plenty of food and even access to fun things for the kids to do to burn off a little steam. So impressed by the outpouring of support being offered to our city’s evacuees.”
